TradeY Beta 0 — terms and disclaimer

Last updated: 2 October 2026. These terms are written in plain language and have not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. They apply to the TradeY Beta 0 desktop app, the TradeY command-line tool and this website.

1. What Beta 0 is

A free test version of TradeY for writing, backtesting and paper-trading crypto trading strategies on your own computer.

2. Paper trading only — no real orders

Beta 0 cannot place orders on any exchange, and it never asks for exchange keys. Bots run on live public market prices, but every fill is simulated on your computer. Simulated profits and losses are not real money, and real trading would give different results (fees, slippage, outages and partial fills). Bots only run while your computer is on and TradeY is open: sleep, hibernate, shutdown or quitting the app stops them, and nothing runs for you in the cloud.

3. No money changes hands

Beta 0 is free. We do not sell anything, take payments, hold funds, or manage money for anyone. There are no TradeY accounts.

4. Not financial advice

Nothing in the app, the command-line tool or this website is financial, investment, legal or tax advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell anything. Backtests and the Risk Score describe how a strategy behaved on past data; they do not predict future results. Crypto trading carries a high risk of loss. If you later trade for real, with TradeY or anything else, that decision and its consequences are yours.

5. Provided as-is

Beta 0 is test software, provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind. It will have bugs. It can lose your data, so keep your own copies of strategies you care about. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from using it.

6. Your data

Beta 0 runs on your computer. Your strategies and simulated trades are stored locally and are not sent to us. To show prices and run backtests, the app downloads public market data directly from third-party providers (for example CoinGecko and Binance); their own terms apply to that data. The installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows may warn you before running it — see the download page.

7. Changes and ending the beta

We may change Beta 0, or stop it, at any time. When a new version comes with different terms, we will publish them here.
