Features

Everything below exists today and runs on your own machine. Nothing here is a roadmap item. Beta 0 is paper trading only.

Readable strategy language

Write rules the way you'd say them — when rsi above 70 then sell — with syntax highlighting and validation as you type. No block editor, no hidden logic.

TypeScript editor

Monaco with full IntelliSense for the TradeY SDK. Inline lint flags unbounded position sizes, missing stop-losses, and network calls made outside the SDK — before you ship.

20 indicators, one implementation

RSI, MACD, Bollinger, EMA, SMA, ATR, ADX, VWAP, OBV, CCI, Williams %R, ROC, CMF, Keltner, Parabolic SAR and more — held to the desktop engine by 101 automated parity checks, so the editor and the command line compute the same numbers.

Deterministic backtests

The same bot over the same candles produces the same trade list every time. That is a tested property, not an aspiration — it is what makes a backtest worth arguing about.

Backtest reports you can read

Equity curve with drawdown shading, separate markers for long and short entries and exits, a monthly-returns heatmap, and a benchmark overlay against BTC and ETH buy-and-hold.

Risk Score

One number from 0 to 100, computed from the backtest — drawdown, volatility, consistency and return-to-risk — and bucketed LOW / MEDIUM / HIGH. The formula is written down and versioned, so a score always says which version produced it.

One bot file

A single versioned JSON document is what the editor writes, the backtester scores and the command line runs. Export it, read it, put it in version control.

20 prebuilt strategies

Templates across trend, momentum, mean-reversion, breakout, volume, volatility, scalping, hedging and DCA — Golden Cross EMA, Bollinger Squeeze Breakout, Multi-Level Grid Bot, RSI + MACD + ADX Confluence and more. Open any of them, read it line by line, edit it. A starting point, not a black box.

One-click migration

Move a strategy from the rule language to TypeScript in one step, with a side-by-side diff before you commit to it. The original is archived as an earlier version, so it is always reversible.

Beta 0 never asks for exchange keys

Paper trading runs on public market data, so there is no exchange account to connect and no key to store. When live trading returns, keys will be encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM under a key derived from a passphrase only you know, and keys carrying withdrawal permission will be refused.

Every simulated order is journaled

Each paper run writes an append-only journal: the intent is recorded before the simulated order is filled. Read it back with tradey logs to see exactly what your bot did and when.

It runs on your machine

No TradeY server is involved: Beta 0 has no backend and no endpoint that could place an order for you. A bot pointed at a real exchange refuses to start and tells you to paper-trade instead.
