Two steps. One bot file format. The desktop editor, the CLI, and the backtester all consume the same JSON.
Readable rules first. Full TypeScript when you need it. One bot file shared by everything that runs it.
Write rules the way you'd say them — when rsi above 70 then sell — over indicators, conditions, and orders. Syntax highlighting and validation as you type, or start from one of 20 prebuilt strategies.
Monaco with full IntelliSense for the TradeY SDK. Inline lint flags unbounded position sizes and missing stop-losses before you ship.
Run it yourself on your own machine. In Beta 0, every run is a paper run.
Paper-trade bots locally with the TradeY CLI on live market prices, with simulated fills: tradey run bot.json --dry-run. Beta 0 cannot place real orders — a bot pointed at a real exchange refuses to start and tells you to paper-trade instead. Beta 0 never asks for exchange keys.
TradeY runs locally on your machine. Beta 0 is free and paper trading only.
